Christmas Quilting Groove....

Is still going! I've got 4 out of 5 quilt tops done and the fifth is halfway cut out! The fifth is a similar one to the 4th, except I exchanged the green strip for red! I will also embroider their names on their quilts. The binding will be the opposite color, so they are simian but able to tell which quilt is theirs from a distance!

WAYWO

Working on Christmas orders! Want to have them all delivered by December 10th at the latest! Hopefully then I can get some of my presents done!

Had a little break, made my 18th block for my "Anniversary Quilt". My goal is to have this quilt finished for our anniversary this year and also to enter it into the Orange County Fair.

WAYWA

What are you working on?

I have two finishes!

The "GRINCH CHRISTMAS QUILT":

And a new Autumn Tablerunner for our house:

Freshly made-you can still see the chalk marks where I quilted-needs a washing to remove!

Also made progress on another commissioned quilt:

I should have this finished this week!

I will be quilting the "Curious George" quilt and the "Harley Quilt" this week! Then on to 3 more quilts, and THEN I can start my own Christmas gifts!

How many more days Until Christmas???? YIKES!!!

Life is Like a Box of Chocolates.....

U certainly never know what you're gonna get!

So, if you would have told me a year ago that my baby, Amanda (24 years old) would join the NAVY, I would have called you "crazy"!!

She had a good job, great apartment with two roommates that she liked, a car, family that is supportive, etc.....

But that was exactly what happened and we said goodbye to her this last Wednesday. She is off to Great Lakes, Illinois (yes, this is the daughter that HATES the cold).

She swore in and they informed us that she no longer belonged to us...she belongs to the NAVY.

Off to bootcamp the same day-she was able to give us a brief call with a scripted speech that she arrived safely. All her belongings now get mailed back to us, and she will get everything she needs for bootcamp issued to her (this includes undies) and she cannot have a phone until after the 8 weeks of bootcamp. She will only be able to call us if her division earns the privilege and not until after the second week!

We have been off and on crying, looking up all the info on the Internet of what she is doing. I had been hibernating, face in pillow for the last two days, but I am back to my old routine-and quilting!

I am very proud of her and I know she is stronger than she believes!

I hope she finds all she wants in the NAVY!

Funnies!
